WaterVerge collects minimal information from visitors:
- Email address — only if you voluntarily opt in to our newsletter
- Anonymous usage analytics — page views, browser type, and approximate location via IP address
We do not create user accounts, store passwords, or collect payment information.
How We Use Your Information
- Deliver newsletters to subscribers who have opted in
- Improve the site through aggregated, anonymous analytics
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Sources
All water quality data displayed on WaterVerge is sourced from public EPA databases, including the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS) and the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5), as well as state environmental agencies. This is public domain government data.
Third-Party Services
WaterVerge uses the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare Pages — hosting, CDN, and basic analytics
- Google Fonts — web fonts loaded from fonts.googleapis.com
Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use tracking cookies. One localStorage key (wv-theme) stores your dark mode preference. Analytics services may use standard cookies as described in their own privacy policies.
Your Rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link included in each email
- Request data deletion by emailing privacy@waterverge.com
- California residents: CCPA rights apply — you may request to know what personal information we hold and ask for its deletion
Children's Privacy
WaterVerge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
